Work with VST projects by hosting them in the free version of the suite for playing generated digital music, customizing track elements and triggering specific clips, switching between separate songs, mixing them, previewing in MIDI, etc. A built-in database of effects is included.
The Cantabile Lite software is a VST host, MIDI recorder and sequencer, as well as an audio recorder. The program enables real time playback of virtual instruments and effects. While playing, the audio engine reduces the system load to the lowest possible. It is also possible to use with multi-core and multi-processor systems.
The Lite version can support up to four plug ins, as well as ASIO and DirectSound, audio recorders, MIDI recorders, filters and sequencers. There is also an on screen keyboard and MIDI controller assignments. File names can be formatted and you have many choices regarding how you do this.
The audio recorder feature can write directly to a wav file and you can choose to record the input or the output. The MIDI recorder, on the other hand, writes to a mid file format. New recordings are loaded to the MIDI sequencer without any actions to be performed.
The Cantabile Lite program enables the user to define tempo and time signature. You can also use custom wave files and integrated sounds. One good feature is the “tap tempo”, which lets you set the tempo by playing notes. The clock included within the program enables you to sync to the MIDI sequencer.
